A Brilliant Idea

Last week I was on site photographing Miele US' media preview for their Brilliant White Plus series which features a refreshing update to appliance finishes. The progressive luncheon featured showroom tours at Miele, Hastings Tile & Bath and Poggenpohl. With eye candy like that, it was easy to find a stellar shot or two. This one above is my favorite shot as it reflects the tone for the event. Come see the full album over on Miele US' facebook page.

Shooter's Dream: Palm Springs

Last week I participated in the photography retreat hosted by Tracey Clark's Shutter Sisters and her fine collective of contributing editors. This was my second year attending the women's photography gathering for a little learning, a little inspiration and maybe a little (just a little!) relaxation.

It was so refreshing to focus on learning and to see friends again that made me laugh and laugh and laugh. Oh, and maybe I got to take a few photographs while I was there, too. Palm Springs is actually an architectural/interiors photographer's dream with the abundance of exuberant style and iconic mid-century modern design. I've highlighted my tour of the Ace Hotel (where the conference was held), the Saguaro Hotel and the Parker Palm Springs over on my other blog.

The complete set can be seen here.

Here, too, are a couple of bonus shots from that trip:

Dream Kitchen: Won't You Be Mine?

I love house tours for the opportunity to peek into other people's homes. Sure, they won't all match my style but maybe I'll pick up some good ideas. Anyway, after happening upon this beautiful kitchen, I knew instantly it would be perfect to showcase on the other blog. After a minor delay, we got in to shoot last month and the post is finally live. Come take a peek at the abundant use of statuary marble and tell me you don't covet this kitchen, too.

Showcasing Sam Simon

I was super pleased to see some of the images I shot for uber-talented artist Sam Simon over on Walls Surround You, the inspiring blog for the creative design and wall finish company, SuperStrata. I knew from the start that Sam was a special character form his effusive, engaging and enveloping personality. He has further won my heart with this little tidbit from the SuperStrata piece:

The addition of tiny details are one of my trademarks- in this instance the passengers of the taxi-cab and fire engine.  I believe it is all about the details, that this is where the magic of fine craftsmanship lives.

Hop on over to Walls Surround You to see the full set of shots and lean more about Sam and his work!
